A shooting permit is compulsory for the filming of any professional feature of all types and bases

It is delivered by the "Centre Cinématographique Marocain", a public entity under tutorship of the ministry for information.

The Cinema Centre was founded in January 1944, to insure the enforcement of regulatory measures relating to the cinema profession, in particular those concerning professional activity permits, the setting up of film companies and film screening rules.

Moroccan production companies should be holders of an permit for production activity that CCM grants in conformity with the conditions stipulated in  law n° 20.99 dating 15 February, 2001 and relating to the cinema industry organisation, in particular its articles 1,2 and 3.

To obtain a shooting permit for a feature film (cinema or television)

 You should address your request, two weeks before your first shooting day, the latest. You should also annexe to your application:

    ▪ A shooting Shooting permit form duly filled                                                          

    ▪ A copy of your film script.

    ▪ A credentials letter when it concerns an executive production. 

    ▪ The list of Moroccan technicians, with the number of their professional ID, with regard to the quota stipulated in law n° 20.99 of 15 February 2001 concerning the organisation of the cinema industry.                       ΔΔΔ

For a Short film, documentary film or Video clip

Besides your request and an application form duly filled. You should present:

    ▪ A script copy and the topic summary (documentary).
    ▪ The singer’s name and/or the band’s name when requesting for a video clip.

   ▪ The list of Moroccan technicians with their ID cards numbers while observing the quota allocated to two technicians, heads of posts, holding a professional ID.

    ▪ A shooting schedule with the exact filming locations.
You should apply for the filming authorization at least a week before your shooting date.                                                                            ΔΔΔ  

To shoot a commercial in Morocco

Your application should reach the CCM at least five days before the shooting date, submitted with a duly filled form (pdf format).

    ▪ An order note in the name of the advertiser, when it concerns a Local advertising film.

    ▪ The list of Moroccan technicians with the number of their professional card while observing the quota of 5 technicians holding the professional ID of whom 3 heads of post, for Moroccan or foreign spot.

    ▪ The shooting Schedule with the exact filming location.
    ▪ A credentials letter for an executive production.
The executive production of any long film or telefilm should be insured by a Moroccan production company agreed by the CCM.

"Executive production" means that the directing and execution of films ordered by companies not committed to Moroccan law, and performing services related to the setting up of technical and artistic crews and to arranging for film shooting by virtue of a contract concluded to this effect.

The "Centre Cinématographique Marocain" delivers shooting permits for reporting and television programs as well.

You will need to submit your request, plus the filled application form in pdf format. You should also include into your application folder the summary of the topic.

Shooting permits are stated in the name of Moroccan or foreign television broadcasting corporations or in the name of Moroccan or foreign production companies. These production companies shall, obviously, be holders of production activity permit granted by the CCM pursuant to provisions stipulated in law n° 20/99 of 15 February, 2001 relating to the re-structuring of the film-making industry, in particular its articles 1, 2 and 3.     ΔΔΔ
